How was it born?

Everything included in Japanese for American High School Students, Book 1 and Book 2, derives from the instructional materials the author created during her 20-year teaching career at White Station High School in Memphis, Tennessee. After her retirement, she started organizing and revising the materials to create a textbook that would be a great resource for both students and teachers. Both Book 1 and Book 2 have bountiful ideas for exercises, oral practices, and a wide variety of activities, all of which were compiled with a specific image in mind: a classroom where students are not only motivated to improve their individual skills, but also constantly engaged through creative group interaction. The author hopes that Japanese language teachers and students will discover what fun it is to learn Japanese from Japanese for American High School Students!
